Pillows, cushions, plush animals, and even blankets are sometimes overlooked when cleaning. But how frequently should you do it?
Your pillowcases should be washed every two weeks at the most. For eight or so hours a night, your filthy little face and filthy tiny hairs are smushed all over them.
However, even with their protective, aesthetic barriers, pillows absorb some of it. Launder your pillows at least once every six months, or once every three months
It's a pain to clean a large pillow, but cleaning couch cushions is a nightmare. They're big, fluffy, and conceal a surprising amount of grime and dust.
If you have kids or dogs, those cushions collect dust, spilled drinks, and other liquids. Six-monthly cleaning is recommended.
It should be washed every two months, although this is subjective. If you regularly sleep with a sheet between you and your comforter, this time can be increased.
If kids, dogs, or even just one extra person sleeps with you, you may need to increase your wash schedule. Same goes if you have allergies or are a sweaty sleeper.
They should be laundered every six months. If you or your child carry, sleep with frequently, however, remove dirt and grime at least once every month.
