1) Getting sick more often

Our immune system fights infections and makes us well when we're unwell. But, sleep deprivation hinders this skill, according to research.

Sleep is when our bodies manufacture and release cytokines, immune-boosting proteins. Without them, the body can't fight infections.

2) Weight Gain

Studies reveal that those who sleep less than seven hours a day are more likely to acquire weight and become obese. 

Sleep-deprived persons have lower levels of leptin, a substance that makes you feel full, and greater levels of ghrelin, a hunger hormone.

3) Increased risk of diabetes

Type 2 diabetes is more likely to develop in those who sleep less than eight hours every night, according to a significant body of evidence. 

Because of sleep deprivation, your body secretes more cortisol, which keeps you awake. This hinders insulin's ability to regulate blood sugar levels.

4) Chances of Depression

A bad night's sleep makes everyone grumpy the next day. Long-term sleep loss can cause or worsen sadness and anxiety.

 Sleep actually recharges our brains and sorts through all the complicated emotions we experience daily.

5) Less sex drive

When you don't get enough sleep, you may find yourself unable to have sex. Males are more susceptible to the disease.

Getting too little sleep causes the stress hormone cortisol to be secreted, which limits the amount of testosterone produced.
